With your batteries more charged than ever and the good energy of summer still in your body, it's time to take on new challenges, make changes that make you feel better and, above all, live in the present.
No post-holiday depression. September is a month of opportunities.
So we have come up with the great idea to show you some tips you can follow to prepare your home for the new season. Autumn winter 2020 decoration and interior design trends that will inspire you to give a more autumnal feel to your home. Warm environments, contrasting textiles, natural materials and much more.
Also, remember that summer doesn't officially end until September 22. So you still have time to take advantage of the nice weather while you renovate your home - no excuses! Face fall with a good attitude.
AUTUMNAL ATMOSPHERES WITHOUT SACRIFICING YOUR STYLE
When a new season arrives, we often tend to emphasize a decorative style and it seems that we are not fashionable if we do not follow that trend. Well, this fall personality is above all else. Your home should be a reflection of you. We are looking to create timeless spaces and, one of the keys to achieve it, is to do it with your own style.
Although if you are a minimalist trend you are in luck. This fall-winter simplicity is going to stand out in our homes. Clean environments that help you relax. You already know that natural materials are booming and together with earth tones and neutrals we will get warm and peaceful spaces.
If, on the other hand, you prefer an industrial style, don't worry. This style is still a real trend in interior design. This fall you can combine it with vintage touches, such as chairs, sofas or furniture in brown and mustard tones, which together with metallic and industrial woods will bring warmth and comfort.
And as we had already revealed months ago, the Japandi style was here to stay. This Nordic and Japanese combination is ideal for interior design fans. Wood and natural decoration are maintained, but this season earthy or new shades appear, such as terracotta or grayish green, which provide a more sophisticated touch.
THE FIRST COLD WEATHER FABRICS
September is also the month of closet change. With the arrival of autumn, the first thin jackets appear or swimsuits are put away again. Well, the same thing happens with home textiles. It is time to renew and take out of the closet (storage room, attic or sofa) the carpets and blankets at home.
In addition to being a decorative and protective element, rugs are ideal to create a cozy atmosphere and add a touch of personality, with ethnic prints and colors or, if you prefer, elegant and sophisticated colors such as beige or sand.
As you can imagine, cushions were not going to be less. It's time to put away the covers with bright colors and opt for ocher, brown or geometric prints, which this fall are the big novelty. Put away the summer linen and opt for velvet, corduroy and other soft fabrics. Don't forget to pair them with a fine blanket at the foot of the bed or for those nights of sofa, movie and blanket.
It should never be missing to kick off the season. It is great as a decoration for the sofa or bed with trendy prints and tasty fabrics, but if you like to keep everything collected, we suggest you to keep it in a natural wicker basket, a guaranteed success.
HOT AND COLD IN EQUAL COLORS
Regarding colors, as you know, autumn is full of warm shades: oranges, maroons, ochers, mustards and browns. This year will be no less. We love the cozy and relaxing feeling that these colors transmit to the environment. A must-have this season is the caramel tone that combines perfectly with neutral ranges and that we are going to see a lot in decorative details.
And then you may wonder what happened to the famous Classic Blue, the color chosen by Pantone for 2020. Well, blue is not going away. It will be a time of chromatic contrasts; mixing powdered blues with browns or even mustards. You will be surprised by the elegance of this color game. And if you also dare with prints, you will have an infinite number of options to choose from, all with a lot of character and personality.
HOME AND NATURAL DECORATION
It's time to keep calm and not go crazy. As good lovers of decoration and interior design this is the part where we should not get carried away by impulses and raze all the stores. Although yes, we would take everything. Especially this season.
Rustic details, natural fibers and woods will dominate our homes. And as you know, we must take into account the organic and sustainable elements to help the environment. So the best option for this is to opt for furniture and decoration with natural materials, such as wood, marble or stone.
çAlthough they will also be combined with metals, in gold or black, which will give a more sophisticated and urban touch. The tendency is to design furniture with rounded shapes, with curves, to give dynamism to the environment.
Remember that September can help us to put order in the rooms of our home. And what better to use baskets and storage boxes in wood or wicker, which in addition to helping us organize the space, are the perfect decorative element.
We have talked about materials, colors, textures... But what about aromas? An aspect that often goes unnoticed but that we must take into account. The smells of our home will help us to energize the environment.
So if you need to lift your spirits for the entry of autumn, there is nothing better than adding scented candles, diffusers or air fresheners. In addition to the pleasant smell with which you will fill your home, citrus notes, such as grapefruit, will bring warm and fresh nuances ideal for this season.
We like to emphasize that the small details make the difference and, in this case, the style. Vases, trays, decorative figures, magazine racks, pictures, mirrors... You will have so many options that you will have a hard time choosing.
THE MORE NATURAL SIDE OF AUTUMN: PLANTS AND FLOWERS
If there is something that characterizes this season's interior design trends, it is undoubtedly naturalness. As we have already seen, materials, textures or colors that recreate the autumnal environments are used. But if we talk about bringing natural details to our home we can not forget the flowers and plants.
We must take advantage of the fact that temperatures are not so high to incorporate them at home.
In autumn, a great variety of flowers appear with cheerful and warm tones that bring color and life to any room in the house. If you like to fill your vases with beautiful floral bouquets, we recommend hydrangea, hibiscus or chrysanthemums, ideal for this time of the year that bloom and fill with elegance and beauty any space with color and scent.
Although one of the most rising trends in decoration are dried flowers, they bring a sweet and homey touch that we love.
If, on the other hand, you prefer to complement your home with autumn plants, remember that there are some that do not need much care, such as the famous monstera, the fashionable plant in every house and ideal for decorating any corner.
Ivy can be another of your options, since its green leaves favor and resist a lot indoors, they are perfect for hanging. If you want to add a touch of color, wallflower will be a good choice for your terrace. And if you have a large space, take a chance with climbing plants or fruit trees.
Now you have all the ingredients to turn your home into your own relaxing, autumnal sanctuary. Take advantage of this season to give it a whirl. We can't wait to start applying these trends to our work.
